Here we go again...

Hi Buster,

Today started out pretty fun for you and I.  Although you weren't the happiest when I arrived you quickly calmed down and to work we went.  Our first task was getting you cleaned up.  You typically love getting wiped down but today was a whole new bath experience for you.  Your nurse suggested we sit you in a tub of water.  She was worried you wouldn't like it but you sure seemed pretty happy about it.  Now you have a little better idea what a real bath is like.
The rest of the morning included some play time, a nap, therapy and talks with the doctors.  The doctors assured mommy that they have everything set for you to have your surgeries tomorrow.  Your numbers look good and they are ready to move forward.  This afternoon mommy was lucky enough to cuddle with you for a few hours and then you and daddy got some snuggle time.  Things were lining up for a quiet night as mommy and daddy started to head downstairs for dinner.

Then while the nurses were working on you things went south.  You threw a major fit but it was time for some chill medicine so we weren't too worried.  As the nurse went to give you your medicine your new PICC line decided to get stuck.  This means they couldn't give you your medicine or draw blood.  Mommy and daddy find this pretty ironic since your other PICC line lasted months without a problem and now this one is 3 days old and being stubborn.  So with a lot of work mommy and daddy were able to calm you down and the doctors finally gave you some medicine in your feeding tube so you could stay calm.

Mommy and daddy ate a late dinner and now we are waiting for the PICC team to come up and work on your line.  They have a special medicine that helps to unclog it so we're saying an extra prayer that it does the job.  We won't know for a few hours if its successful but we don't want to have any reason to stall tomorrow.  So let's make an agreement right now that you manage to have a quiet night so we can go into tomorrow rested and ready.  I know tomorrow doesn't sound fun but it's a necessary step to get closer to home.  Don't be scared little buddy.  Mommy and daddy will be right here every step of the way.  We love you Connor and we are so proud of how brave you are.  Sweet dreams.
Love,
Mommy
