Burrito Baby

Hi Connor,

Like daddy said, yesterday was a pretty long day for mommy and daddy but luckily not too busy for you which is what's important.  Being a mommy or daddy isn't suppose to be easy so don't you worry about us little guy.  At about 11:30 last night Dr. Nelson came by to talk with mommy and daddy.  I think you were pretty excited to see him too because you were wide awake and pretty darn happy.

He spent a long time going over the stuff Dr. Connor had told us and helped sort out a lot of our questions.  Dr. Nelson is a pretty amazing doctor.  See it's not his week as attending but he still wanted to check on you as well as mommy and daddy.  We feel he's a pretty special angel sent to watch over you and help mommy and daddy along this journey.

Although mommy and daddy still have a lot of thinking to do and talking with doctors we talked to God a lot last night and were able to get some rest after you finished your late night aerobics.  You had your first guy nurse and his name was Jason.  He did a great job and made mommy and daddy feel very secure to go get some rest of our own.  You slept sound all night and Jason said he thought you really like being bundled like a burrito.

This morning rounds were the fastest they've ever been about you  (you're kind of like a celebrity these days and everyone is always up on all your business).  You're tough little body is holding strong and your numbers look just the littlest bit better which makes mommy and daddy very happy.  They are going to start giving you bigger milkshakes today which I know makes your belly happy.  Mommy and daddy are praying that you can continue to grow and heal while we all decide if/when you will have your little heart worked on.

Right now you are sleeping and almost look to be smiling.  It's just you and me here and things are very peaceful.  That's right, daddy finally left for a little bit.  This is the first time he's been outside the hospital since you were born.  He has been by your side nonstop and I know how happy it makes you to hear his voice but since you are sleeping it's a great time for daddy to take care of a few things.  He has somehow been juggling more things in the past month then most people do in a year or decade for that matter and I have to say he's pretty amazing. It seems the two main men in my life may be the strongest guys in the world.

Dr. Reddy just stopped by to check in on you and your kidneys.  Things still aren't exactly what they need to be down there but they're slowly moving in the right direction so keep up the good work little guy. We need to get those kidneys in the best shape possible before we move onto your heart.  Rest up so we can play some today.  I'm pretty sure Grandma's on her way again (she just can't stay away from you).

I love you little man,
Mommy
