Buster Brown...

Hey there Buster -

So you have probably heard it already little man, but mommy's name for you when you get ornery is "Buster". And we have been calling you Buster a pretty good amount the last few hours. You have been a champ with all your tests and mommy and daddy are super proud of you for that. I can't imagine having to go through all the stuff you have had to deal with in the last 72 hours and I"m a full grown man, you truly are as tough as we thought.

Now back to the Buster part, you are apparently pretty upset with those doctors for knocking you out yesterday. They had to keep you from moving for the MRI and because of the stuff going on with your little kidneys all that medicine hasn't quite worked itself out of your system yet. That means you can't move your arms and legs like you want to yet and you don't like it one bit. Your heart rate has been through the roof all morning and the wonderful doctors and nurses have been doing everything they can to help calm you down. Your mommy and I even tried singing to you but I think that quick blink of the eye you gave me was the equivalent of "cut it out or I'll poop on you next time you touch that diaper".

So we backed off and let the professionals do their thing and you are finally calming down some (which is a good thing because you had mommy a little worked up with your antics). Both of you are taking a nap now and that makes daddy feel a lot better too.

Even though its still pretty early you have seen a couple sets of doctors and had an x-ray already. The good news is that the x-ray results showed that your little bladder is doing better and that, combined with your latest kidney numbers, means those little kidneys may be starting to heal up from all the yuckiness that they were feeling before. Your other doctors (the cardiologists), led by a wonderfully gentle man named Dr. Nelson, came by and talked to us briefly but said that they are planning to sit down with us tomorrow and go over everything they have found so far. That little talk may be rough for mommy and daddy but if nothing else it will give us some answers about why you haven't been feeling so well.

You only have one doctor left to see today and they will be here in about an hour. The ophthalmology department is going to come down here and take a look into those beautiful little eyes of yours to make sure things are ok with them. Barring anything unusual that should be the end of your tests for a while and we can all breathe a little easier while you rest.

Now even though mommy and daddy may call you "Buster" when you get a little rambunctious the doctors say that spunk is a good thing so you just ignore us and do what you need to do to get better little man. We are finding out you have a pretty good idea about what you need and you tend to tell us. We will talk again tonight but until then you just try and get some rest and maybe let mommy get some too.

I love you Connor.

- Daddy
