Well I have to start off by telling you that much to your mommy's disgust her Bungles, oh wait I mean Bengals, managed to go from looking really good to looking like a bunch of middle school kids on recess. It was a rough afternoon for mommy. Daddy's team didn't play today but we took our beating yesterday so I'm okay with a little bit of a break. We did watch football most of the day today though, which meant another lazy Sunday for the three of us (plus Gigi for a while and then Grandma and Grandpa for a while).
You slept a big chunk of today, despite our best efforts to wake you up and get you moving you were a zombie. Not the ugly kind of zombie with bad skin and a limp, but the kind who just won't wake up no matter what you do to him. That was you, all day long. But that made for an easy day for mommy and daddy and Gigi. After mommy's football game your auntie Beth's mommy brought us some yummy dinner. She brought us all kinds of stuff for dinner and then a big pie for dessert. It was awfully sweet of her and your mommy and daddy appreciate it so much.
After that your Grandma and Grandpa showed up and played with you for quite a while. They tried and tried and tried to get you to play but you just kept giving them the evil eye. After about an hour of making noises and and poking you with stuffed animals and even tickling your feet Grandpa decided you were too tired to get up and play. He was a little bummed about that but you know what, I think he still enjoyed every minute of it so don't let him tell you otherwise. Now this next part may make Grandpa jealous...
Right after Grandma and Grandpa left your nurse came in and told mommy and daddy that we could give you your first real bath. We were a little nervous at first but you did great. You didn't cry, you didn't flinch, you didn't even get red or angry, and your heart rate stayed low the whole time. Believe it or not, I am pretty sure you enjoyed that bath. The only part you seemed a bit freaked out by was when your mommy decided it was time to fix up your nice clean hair.
That blur in the picture is the little mini brush that your mommy was using to fix up your hair. And that look on your face says just about everything it needs to. "Mommy, what in the world are you doing to me?!?!" But mommy wanted to see your pretty hair all spiked up so that is what she did. And I have to admit... it was pretty darn cute.
Well now mommy is reading you a story and daddy is getting ready for bed time. We are hoping you are nice and quiet tonight so we can all get some good sleep. For right now we are just happy to have the little bits of awake time with you that we get and hope for uneventful days so that the doctors don't have any reasons to come back in here. Good work little man.
I love you Connor.
- Daddy
